GuessWhatSearch has been designed to aid people during the process of searching for information. Based on analysis, survey data and experience GuessWhatSearch set out to identify the 3 main starting points used by somebody searching for data on the internet.
1: ENGINE BASED APPROACH - Once a search requirement is identified a person will choose the engine they wish to use. This will be based on their experience of result quality and features of favoured engines.

GEOGRAPHICAL BASED APPROACH - In this case the results must come from a specific country or region, otherwise the resulting links will be unusable. This is because the results returned will saturate the users meaningful results for their

3: CATEGORY BASED APPROACH - A search may be based on a specific topic or category (e.g.
sports, maps, news). The user will require a categorical search to obtain relevant results to supplied keywords. Without this additional filtering the search results will include multiple untargeted links.
